ENDURO GRAND PRIX OF WALES
Location: Rhayader, Wales
Date: Thursday 31st July – 2nd August 2025
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Rotor Adventures’ 3-Day Event at the FIM Enduro GP of Wales 2025. An opportunity to experience the local area, trail riding and spectating at an amazing off-road racing event.
In 2024, the Enduro World Championship returned to the UK for the first time in 16 years, when it had been held at the home of the Yamaha Off-Road Experience and the fantastic Hafren Forest.
For 2024, a 4 year plan had been confirmed with the FIM, for the UK to host the Enduro GP at the iconic Cwmythig Hill national motocross facility near Rhayader, with the satellite paddock based at Saintswell MX and Enduro Centre near to the village of Llanbister.
The organisers, local enduro clubs and sponsors have been extremely proactive, developing the facilities, routes and special tests to accommodate what will be an incredible spectacle of international riders competing at the highest standards.
There are high hopes this will lead to the region being allowed to host the International Six Day Enduro in 2027/ 2028

ENDURO GP EXPLAINED
If you don’t normally follow the Enduro GP or timecard enduro competition, here is a short explanation on what to expect.
Laps
For elite enduro, there will be a long off-road lap of potential 45-60 miles, made up of timed special tests and transfers or otherwise known as time checks.
There can be 2 or 3 laps per day, taking a rider 7-8hrs to complete, along with a minimum of 3-4 specials test incorporated within each lap.
Transfer / Time Check
The transfer or time check is the lap route between timed special tests and can be a little complicated if you are not used to the timecard enduro format. The transfers or time checks can be physical and technically demanding to test riders as they move between the timed special tests.
Riders will start in pairs, 1 minute apart. Each rider has a time schedule for each day, and they must remain on this schedule. They are not allowed to arrive at the checkpoints early or late, otherwise a rider will encounter a penalty based on how long they arrive outside the allocated schedule.
At elite level, riders are unlikely to lose time on the transfers unless a mechanical or other incident occurs.
Special Tests
Each full lap will host several timed special tests, generally based around the huge variety of enduro terrain and ability tests. Each special test is normally between 10-15 minutes at World Championship level, generally where the event is won or lost, where you can see riders at full speed and the most spectacular part of the racing. Test times are accumulated throughout the day for each rider’s final position.
- Super Test
A man-made course and highly technical. National and wildcard entrants start first with the elite riders going last.
- Extreme Test
The Extreme Test will be incorporated in the transfer lap and will be a mixture of man-made and natural obstacles, technical and requiring high level of riding skills to get round.
- Cross-Country Test
The Cross-Country Test is natural terrain, fast, long and technical, combining all aspects of enduro cross country riding.
- Enduro / MX Test
The Enduro / MX Test will incorporate a mixture of enduro and motocross terrain. This test will require full commitment from the riders and a high-level mixture of skills.
