RECOMMENDED RIDER EXPERIENCE:
The Morocco 2025 Coast-to-Coast Tour is an unforgettable off-road tour. All riders require to have a good off-road experience and previously completed multi-day off-road riding events or tours confidently. Riders should be prepared to be active for up to 8-10hrs per day, covering the variety of terrain Morocco can provide.
Technical Riding
All riders should have the ability to cross small to medium size obstacles, both natural and man-made, maintain reasonable progress and a suitable skill level to ride competently and confidently off-road.
Mind-Set
Everyone will require an aptitude and desire to ride an off-road motorcycle for an extensive period, with flexibility and tolerance to overcome any unforeseen circumstances. Routes, distances and timings can vary considerably, due to a change in the situation, climatic conditions and requirement for guides and staff to make alterations throughout your day.
Personal Fitness and Conditioning
It is highly recommended to have a suitable physical and endurance level to deal with 9 days riding off-road. Preparation will enhance the riding experience and ultimately personal enjoyment without affecting the tour and others.

THE ROUTE AND TERRAIN
The Route:
- DAY 1: Friday 25th April 2025 – Agadir
Riders arrive in Agadir, Morocco
- DAY 2: Saturday 26th April 2025 – Agadir (100kms)
After breakfast, riders will have an opportunity to get their riding equipment together before heading out for a 100km shakedown ride in the local area to Agadir. This is to make sure bikes and riders are all operating well, kit is comfortable and to iron out any issues before the tour commences.
- DAY 3: Sunday 27th April 2025 – Agadir to Tata (260kms)
This will be the start of the Coast to Coast Morocco Tour as riders will leave the beautiful coastal town of Agadir and head east into the southern section of the Agafay Desert, cross south east into the Western Sahara before arriving into the region and town of Tata.
Riders will encounter a variety of terrain, departing from sea level into the Anti-Atlas Mountains, some great single track and altitude before dropping onto flowing desert plains.
- DAY 4: Monday 28th April 2025 – Tata to Zagora (250kms)
Riders will begin to cross classic rally competition areas from many years of the original Dakar Rally and World Championships. Remaining at a good altitude in the lower Atlas, the route will head virtually due east for Zagora and follow the extensive Draa River Valley and the region of Draa-Tafilalet.
The day will finish, providing the first ‘real’ desert experience as we ride flowing trails, right up to the gates, entering the city of Zagora. A taster for the following day.
- DAY 5: Tuesday 29th April 2025 – Zagora to Erfoud (280kms)
Departing straight after breakfast, this will be a long desert riding day but an opportunity to recuperate, rest and relax lies in wait for those who need it.
Riders will experience an extensive network of trails, huge variety of terrain, along with difficult navigation for the guides, as everyone crosses sections of the Draa Desert, the Northern Sahara and enter the Merzouga Desert as the route parallels the Algerian border to the south and east.
This area is immersed in local culture and a huge history of rally competition, from the origins of the Dakar Rally to the present Rally du Maroc Desert Challenge, part of the current World Championships.
Once you arrive at the accommodation, riders will be able to settle in, unpack and enjoy their comfortable surroundings for the next 3 nights and 2 full days.
- DAY 6 & 7: Wednesday 30th April & Thursday 1st May 2025 – Erfoud
The next 48 hours will be totally flexible to suit the individual, allowing riders to unwind and enjoy the relaxing environment, the local culture or to enjoy the fantastic riding terrain.
It’s an opportunity to make sure you and your bike are prepared for the next stages of the Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour, whilst enjoying the local areas of Erfoud and Merzouga.
The area is a global attraction due to its geographical diversity and host to many adventure sports and events from regular motorcycle and car rallies to the Marathon de Sables, multiple 4×4 tours, camel tours, trekking and cycling, to name but a few.
It is an amazing rider’s paradise with extensive desert to the west and the infamous Merzouga Dunes to the southeast.
Rotor Adventures will be providing 2 days of sand dune and desert riding introduction, along with instruction sessions in an enjoyable and measured environment.
Sand & Dunes – You will be able to spend some time developing your sand and dune riding skills near to Merzouga, which will allow you to build confidence and enjoy a different skill set. You will be able to appreciate the complexity of riding in sand and dune sections due to varying techniques, disorientation, understanding the effects of the sun, rain, wind and anticipating what is ahead of you.
Desert – Riders will be able to practice some desert riding on flowing extensive trails, off-piste, dried river areas, shallow sand trails etc. Managing speed, understanding basic navigation and remain safe in the desert.
- DAY 8: Friday 2nd May 2025 – Erfoud to Midelt (210kms)
After a recovery period in Erfoud, The Tour will be back underway heading north towards the Atlas Mountains, which will see the groups climb to 2,700m as we cross a section of the Middle Atlas to Midelt.
The start of the day will be flowing desert trails before a road section to pass through the gorge area between Errichidia and Er-Rich. On reaching Er-Rich the route will traverse west and then north, to pick up the only passable trail over the Middle Atlas, with spectacular views in every direction on the ascent and the subsequent descent into Midelt.
- DAY 9: Saturday 3rd May 2025 – Midelt to Guercif (200kms)
The route will continue north through Missour and the top of the Saida Plain and into the most eastern section of the Low Atlas. Flowing trails across the uplands, where we will encounter arable farming, small holdings, sheep and goat farms as the agricultural population develops nearer to the Mediterranean coastline of Morocco.
- DAY 10: Sunday 4th May 2025 – Guercif to Nador (130kms)
A more relaxed final day and an opportunity to take in the amazing ride from the Low Atlas Mountains to the Mediterranean Coast, enjoying the completion of a true adventure and challenge as your arrive in the coastal town of Nador.
RIDING OFF-ROAD IN MOROCCO
Morocco has been for many decades a magnet for off-road riding, competition and touring. The variety of terrain is an amazing experience, giving the feeling of freedom, excitement and vastness.
Temperatures can range from 50 – 300 in April and may fluctuate dramatically with altitude and at night when based in a desert location. Although there is little rain in Morocco generally, the Atlas Mountains does have a climatic effect on the surrounding area and wet, cold conditions should be considered when planning your riding gear.
Riders need to always ride with care and within their ability levels. The terrain and technicality can change in an instant and riders should remain vigilant and anticipate terrain change.
Rotor Adventures’ guides are highly experienced and will be carrying safety equipment with GPS trackers, medical equipment, tools, etc. Your guides are there to make reasonable progress, navigate the ever-changing desert and manage each day.
RIDER SUPPORT
Rotor Adventures will provide support for all the riders throughout The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour.
Guides
Each group will have 2 experienced guides riding with them, who will be managing the route, safety, progress, rest, fuel stops and dealing with any eventuality that occurs during each day. The guides will be carrying a comprehensive medical kit, primary tools, satellite communications and GPS tracking.
Support Vehicle
A support vehicle will be provided throughout The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour and it is there to service and assist everyone.
The support vehicle will contain everything needed for The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour to include tools, spares, snacks and emergency food, drinking water and bike fuel.
Your overnight kit and spare riding gear will be carried in the support vehicle during your riding day.
A fully trained and qualified paramedic will remain with the support vehicle in order to assist riders with any medical concerns.
Safety
Each group will have a GPS satellite tracking device, which will be monitored by all the guides and support vehicle to manage progress and safety.
Guides and support vehicle will be carrying satellite communications for emergency use only.
Although Morocco is a relatively safe country to travel and off-road motorcycle, riders need to be vigilant and safety conscious throughout The Tour.
Safety advice will be issued prior to departure and the in-country situation monitored, leading up to The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour.
WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM PARTICIPANTS
Rotor Adventures will expect riders to prepare for The Tour and be at a suitable endurance and fitness level, plus gained the appropriate bike skills and knowledge required to maximise their enjoyment and experience during The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour.
Participants will be required to carry out their own daily bike checks and basic maintenance, although Rotor Adventures are on hand to assist where necessary.
Timings and administration are important to maintain momentum throughout The Tour. Riders should have their personal management organised and prepared on a daily basis.
WHAT BIKE SHOULD I RIDE?
This is always a contentious topic and no motorcycle is the holy grail. There are some basics for consideration regarding reliability, terrain, distances, engine size and ease of use.
Engine Type
Two-stroke motorcycles are unsuited to use on this tour due to fuel consumption and 2-stroke requirements.
A four-stroke engine is ideal due to less engine stress, fuel compatibility and maintenance.
Engine size
To avoid too much engine stress, it is ideal to have a strong reliable engine base. For most riders, a modern enduro style, single style four-stroke engine from 250cc – 500cc will work well and relatively easy to use and ride.
Using a larger engine size or the use of adventure style motorcycles, will make the off-road riding more physical, unless the rider is exceptionally competent on a larger engine capacity motorcycle.
Fuel Capacity
The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour and routes are planned around standard enduro motorcycle fuel capability. With the development of fuel availability in Morocco, it is planned to not require larger fuel tanks on enduro bikes.
Tyres and Mousses
A good quality tyre and mousse will last the duration of The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour. It is a requirement for all motorcycles to have new mousses installed in appropriate motorcycle tyres.
Parts and Spares
We ask all participants to have their motorcycle serviced and prepared for The Tour. new tyres, mousses, chain, sprockets and brake pads should be installed as a minimum.
You should plan to change an air filter every day and possibly 1 oil change during The Tour.
You should require minimal spares for The Coast-to-Coast Morocco Tour.
ACCOMMODATION & FOOD
Rotor Adventures organise and plan your accommodation and food for The Tour, with 10 nights’ accommodation, based on single occupancy, with 8 nights half-board (Day 2- Day 9)
Considering how Morocco has developed over recent decades, accommodation and food is of a good – high standard.
BIKE & GEAR TRANSPORTATION
Rotor Adventures will transport your bike and gear between the UK & Morocco return and take care of all transportation requirements and documentation to transit through the EU and Morocco.
You may drop your bike to Rotor Adventures, or you can arrange collection and drop-off at a cost of £0.60 per mile.
FLIGHTS & TRAVEL
Riders will need to arrange their own travel to Agadir and from Nador in Morocco.
We recommend S & N Pickford Travel Agents with exceptional experience arranging our customer’s and motorsport travel requirements. Call: 0161 430 2288
